Bring Your Own Canoe

Here is what you need to know:
  • You need to bring your own pfds/life jackets and paddles, along with your boat.
  • You must have the mandated Transport Canada safety equipment (bailer, whistle, throw line).
  • The fee is per boat, not per person.
  • You need to arrange your own paddling partner(s), if needed.
  • You must be sure your boat is cleaned, drained, dry, and decontaminated at a provincial decontamination station to prevent the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) as per provincial regulations*.
*How do I decontaminate for AIS?
The closest decontamination stations to Oak Hammock Marsh are at St. Vital Park in Winnipeg and at Selkirk Park in Selkirk. You can find more information about AIS regulations and the hours of operation of the decontamination stations here. Note that you cannot perform a boat decontamination at home.

BRING YOUR OWN CANOE FEE IS $20 FOR MEMBERS AND $25 FOR NON-MEMBERS
Pre-registration required. Maximum 10 boats.

Meet your guide at 6:30 p.m. in the main parking lot of the Wetland Discovery Centre.
