Measuring approximately 5×6″, this glass decor is a perfect size to bring a breath of colour to your space. Whether you add to your office, kitchen, or shelf, this piece of art is an earthy warm addition to any space.

How’s It Made?

Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Wheat Standup using multiple steps. First, we roll a slab of clay to the appropriate size. Next, we pressed real wheat stalks into the clay, creating realistic and natural textures. We dry the clay slabs, ensuring they remain perfectly flat. Once dry, we bisque fire the clay to be used as a casting mold for the glass.

We cut and polish the glass to the appropriate size. Next, we use coloured glass powders and frits to accent the details in the textured clay mold. Once the colours have been applied, we carefully place the sheet glass overtop and place the casting mold into the kiln.

We kiln fire the glass to allow the frits and the sheet glass to fuse together. The colour is the fused glass itself; you won’t ever have to worry about the colour fading or washing off. During the firing, we anneal the glass. Because of this, we increase the strength and durability of the glass, so you know it will last for as long as you own the Wheat Standup glass art.
